Asclepias oenotheroides Cham. & Schltdl.

A species found from southeastern Arizona through much of New Mexico and Texas, peripherally into Oklahoma Louisiana. It is very similar to Asclepias nyctaginifolia. Both are unusual in that the corona is narrowly urceolate and extends far beyond the stigmatic surface. This morphology also occurs in Asclepias subulata.
