Talinopsis frutescens A.Gray

An erect, widely-branching plant, similar to Portulaca but with much more diffuse inflorescences and superior ovaries. The type locality is Tortugas Mountain. Thanks to Dave Ferguson for assistance with ID.

Flowers near the Paquime Museum in Casas Grandes, Chihuahua, Mexico, 9 Sep 2009. Whereas when I have seen it in New Mexico it is on open limestone near the tops of low peaks, at this site it was growing in the middle of mesquite bushes in flat clay.
