Prunus virginiana L.

A large shrub to small tree found in montane riparian habitats throughout most of the western United States, and in the eastern U.S. as well. Very similar to Prunus serotina, although the fruits are allegedly more palatable in Prunus virginiana. There are several varieties, which I won't bother distinguishing.
