Oenothera deltoides

I've only seen this plant in the Mohawk Dunes area of southwestern Arizona, where it is common on the dunes.

Oenothera deltoides at Mohawk Dunes, 2/27/05. This is a dried plant from last year. This species is also often called "bird-cage evening primrose" because of the resemblance of these dried plants to bird cages.
